Default why can't heroes use our headpieces?

I feel like my heros are inefficient. PLEASE Anet, let heros use headpieces customized to our account! I feel like my heroes arent versatile at all, because I am forced to only use one build with them. My primary character is an elementalist, and he can use any element - meaning I have a headpiece for each element, with a superior rune in each corresponding to that element. Yes, that takes up 3 extra spaces in my inventory, but now I feel forced to take up ANOTHER 3 for him, and another 2 for my necro, even though I already have a necro of my own, with headpieces that I should be able to transfer to my other character. The only other option would be to buy a new rune every time I want to change builds of my heroes, which doesn't seem fair. Storage is already enough of a problem, and this just makes it even worse.

Because the items are not customized to your account, they are customized to that characters code. The code of whatever youre tryign to put the headgear on doesnt match the code for the character its designed for. Thats why.

also be glad you dont pvp. headpieces taking up 3 spots in your pve inventory is the LEAST of your problems. I think my monk has 3 spots LEFT in her inventory...

if you look at your heros headgear it says +1 primary attribute, which is linked to ure weapons requirement attribute.

So you dont need 3 or 4 head peices for each hero, just weapons

Rune prices are killing me...

I kind of wish they could share my head gear, but then it would be pointless if I wanted to use the same attribute (which I will need another rune anyway).

The way hero's head gear works is as follows:

Example:

Add superior rune of marksmanship to head gear.

Head gear becomes Marksmanship +3 from the rune AND Marksmanship +1 from head gear's attrib +1. a total of Marksmanship +4

To change the head gear, simply salvage the rune from the head gear. It warns you that you "have a 50% chance to destroy the item", but after TRYING to destroy it many times, I dont think it is possible for that to happen

You can then add a different rune and the head gear will take the new rune's attributes and again add 1 to it and you still have your original rune to use again if you want to change it back.

Hope this makes sense, as it is harder to explain than it is to do! LOL
